What is the most useful resource that I use to create my Genius Hour project?
The most useful resource that I use to do my project is the internet. The internet provides almost everything I need to know about, and it is available everywhere I go. There are many great websites available on the internet and can teach me a lot about gold mining. If I want to see a video or the last episode of gold rush it is only a Google search away. By using the internet I have been able to learn much more about gold mining and techniques that I never even knew existed.
One great website I've used several times is http://www.goldfeverprospecting.com/gopainlehowt.html. This website has taught me a lot about gold panning and sluicing, and the proper techniques to do so. It provides many examples and videos that make learning a lot easier. It will also go into great detail about the kind of terrain that gold is likely to be deposited in. Overall the internet provides many sources that make it easy to learn about anything, and its accessible at your finger tips.
How could I use my Genius Hour time more effectively?
One way of using my Genius Hour time more effectively would be to focus more. One way to focus more would be to not talk to my friends no matter how tempting it may be. By talking to my friends I turn my focus to them instead of whats really important, my Genius Hour Project. I also thing that I would be able to get more done if I didn't have to spend so much of my research time blogging about it. It is still important to blog about my progress, but short and sweet approach would be much more efficient than a blog that takes me a half hour to write.
It would also be nice to get out of the classroom and get some real work done. Instead of sitting on the computer talking about panning techniques I need to get out there and test different techniques. My favorite way to learn is hands on and learning by doing it. Everything you will ever be good at takes practice, and I can't do that if I'm stuck in the classroom all hour. I know that this may not be possible but it's just something that I think would make my Genius Hour much more productive.
